What does your urine color says about your health?



Well, almost no one gets pay attention about their urine color looks like. Anyway we should be aware about this thing because urine can say many things about our health. The consistency, color and smell are signs of our lifestyle and well-being and they were depending on what you were consuming recently up to some diseases that you may not even know that you have.

95% of urine is water, but the rest of it is a surprisingly complicated brew of components such as; urea, chloride, sodium, potassium, creatinine and other dissolved ions, plus some different inorganic and organic compounds. 

Actually our urine is usually color is yellow, due to the presence of urobilin, a biochemical waste product caused by the breakdown of old red blood cells. Our body makes about 2 million new red cells every day and recycles an equal variety of old ones.

1. Transparent.
Appears like: Water.

Colorless urine is a sign of over hydration. This problem is not as bad as dehydration, but it still waters down electrolytes and may cause chemical imbalance in your system.

2. Light yellow urine color.
Looks like: Pale straw color.

This urine color is quite normal and says you’re well hydrated. Keep up the great work.

3. Cloudy.
Appears like: An unclean martini.

If your urine has the appearance of a dirty martini look, you might have a bladder infection. The cloudiness usually originates from mucus, tissues and proteins that are breaking down and coalescing.

4. Medium yellow urine color.
Looks like: Lemonade.

You might be dehydrated, so it’s time to drink some water.

5. Dark yellow.
Appears like: Apple juice.

Start drinking more fluids! It might also be contributing if you went heavy on B vitamins.


6. Orange.
Appears like: Tang.

Orange urine means that you are dehydrated and need water immediately! Orange-hued urine color may be caused by excess of bilirubin, a yellow-colored by-product of the natural breakdown of old red blood cells. This could appear because of a gallstone obstructing the bile duct, which drains pipes bilirubin, or some liver disease. Some medications for urinary tract infections can give your pee a vibrant Tang-ling tinge.

7. Pink.
Pink urine is usually caused by red foods such as beets, but it might indicate a drop of blood in the urine which can be a problem. You should visit a urologist to make sure it’s nothing serious.

8. Darker pink.
Looks like: Cabernet.

This might be a sign that there’s more than a little bit of blood in your urine, which might signify a potential bladder infection or cancer. Kidney stones can also trigger blood in the urine, but also less common bladder stones.

9. Dark pink.
Looks like: Red wine.

Dark pink urine is a sign of a great amount of blood. And what’s more worrying is that it might be old blood, which turns dark as it embolisms and breaks down. “The existence of old blood is really worrisome because it suggests a substantial amount of blood,” experts warn. It could also mean that whatever’s causing the bleeding has actually been around for a while. You should definitely visit a urologist.

10. Brown.
If your urine looks like coke, it may be cause by some particular drugs, such as the anti-malarial chloroquine and an antibiotic called metronidazole. The flat Coke appearance might also be triggered by some liver and kidney disorders, due to too much exercise.

Blue or green urine -  If you are consuming a lots of food tinted with synthetic dyes can paint your urine in carnival colors. It’s usually occurs due to the negative effect of medication such as Uribel, used to treat UTIs. The effect comes thanks to the component methylene blue. You shouldn’t be worried. Keep taking your pills with great deals of water, and take pleasure in the weirdness!
