10 Foods Made in China You Must Avoid (Filled with Plastic and Cancer Causing Chemicals)

These are the most dangerous foods imported in China and we advise you to think twice before buying them.

Green Peas
Green peas have been produced in China since 2005. They were made with soy beans, snow peas and green dye and sodium metabisulfite.

The dye is prohibited to use because it damages the process of absorption of calcium and may cause cancer, while the sodium metabisulfite is a chemical which serves as a preservative and a bleach. When you cook them, the peas turn the water green and don’t even soften in it. It is highly recommended to avoid them.

Apple Juice
Approximately 50% of the apple juice sold in America comes from China (because it's cheaper, supposedly). Chinese farmers are known to use harmful (to humans and the environment) herbicides on the food they grow, and this even includes herbicides that the government has banned (so they must be bad). Your best bet here is to make your own apple juice at home from locally grown organic crops.

Imitation Eggs
There`s been a video posted by some Chinese website which explains how to produce a fake egg and earn $70 a day. In order to make it, you need to use potassium alum, calcium, alginic acid, calcium chloride, gelatin, artificial color and water. The main ingredient for the eggshell is calcium carbonate, which may cause dementia and memory loss.

Making beef out of pork
Because pork is less expensive in China, some restaurants have sold it instead of beef – but not before they performed some chemistry on it.

What they use are a beef extract and a glazing agent to “marinate” the meat in for 90 minutes. Doctors have advised people to stay away from this fake product as its long-term use may cause “slow poisoning, deformity, and even cancer.”

Fake Sweet Potato Noodles
In 2011, people started complaining about the taste of the noodles, saying that they tasted strange, not like a sweet potato.

Afterwards, the noodles were analyzed and it turned out that they were based on corn combined with paraffin wax and industrial ink (for the purple color), instead of sweet potato. There were produced 5.5 tons of these fake noodles in China, in the Zhongshan city.

Plastic rice
It has also been reported that China also produces fake, plastic rice. This rice is made of resin and potatoes and stays hard when boiled.

We believe that these facts above surely made you think that it is always better to stay on the safe side and buy and consume local, organic foods.

Chinese Garlic
Watch for the shape, weight and the color. 31% of the garlic we use is imported from China, and Chinese use tons of harmful pesticides in the production of these foods, especially methyl bromide. People should try buying local products from trusted farmers and consume the strongest.

Tilapia Fish
Furthermore, 80% of the tilapia sold in the United States comes from China. The fish are bottom feeders and will eat almost anything.

With water pollution, the way it is in China, eating anything raised in that water would be unsafe to say the least. Plus, who knows what the fish are being fed. There is, also, one study that states tilapia is less healthy than bacon.

Baby Formula
In 2004, CBS News reported that 47 people were accused of making fake instant baby formula, which was the reason of death of dozens of children in Fuyang, China.

The formula was almost made of chalk, it didn’t contain any healthy ingredient, and fostered development of “big head disease” in children, which means that their head becomes bigger and their body becomes smaller.

Mod Sold as Black Pepper
In China`s Guangdong Province, there was a market seller who used to put mud in the packages of black pepper and flour in the packages of white pepper and sell them to the customers. As an explanation to what he did, he said that these ingredients will not kill anyone.
