HOW TO COLOR YOUR HAIR NATURALLY, WITHOUT USING CHEMICALS?

A 2008 study conducted by Clairol, found that 75% of American women dye their hair. The same study revealed that 88% of women feel their hair has some influence on their confidence.

The dangers of chemical products are something that should not be ignored, especially if you frequently visit a salon to color your hair or buy a boxed product and do it yourself.
There are about 5000 different chemicals used in the hair dyes, most of which have been found to be carcinogenic in animal studies.

Therefore, it is advisable to use natural products to color your hair. In this article, you’ll learn several ways to color your hair naturally, without the need to use chemicals.

CARROT OR BEET JUICE FOR RED HAIR
Dying the hair with beets or carrots brings about a temporary reddish tint to the strands, without the worry of nasty effects from chemicals.

Ingredients:

  • Beet juice or carrot juice
  • Whipped coconut oil

Directions:
Just mix the coconut oil with beet or carrot juice.
Apply the mixture to your head.
Cover it with a plastic wrap and leave it thus for up to 1 hour.
Then, rinse, wash, and then condition your hair as normal.

CHAMOMILE FOR GOLDEN BLONDE HAIR

  • 8 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers
  • lemon juice
  • 300ml of hot water

Directions:
Pour 300 ml hot water over the dried chamomile flowers.
Heat it for about 15 minutes.
Then, allow it to cool and filter before adding the juice of ½ lemon.
Apply the mixture to your hair, comb it and allow it to dry. Drying the hair in the sun will bring best results.
Then wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo.

WALNUT HULLS FOR DARK BROWN COLOR
Crush some walnuts, and then boil the hulls in a pot of water for not less than 30 minutes. Then, allow it to cool before soaking your hair in it for 20 minutes. Be sure not to rub it into the scalp too much.

ONION PEEL FOR GRAY HAIR
Add a half a glass of onion peels into a full glass of boiling water. Leave it to stay for around 20 minutes. Make it sure you have something to cover the lid so that the heat doesn’t get out.  Then, use a gauze to separate the liquid from the peels before adding 2 tablespoons of glycerol to the liquid. Rub the mixture into your hair every day until you obtain the desired results.
After rubbing it into your hair, you can then wash your hair as usual and then leave it to dry naturally.
