Menstruation, or a menstrual period, is the periodic shedding of the lining of a woman's uterus. It is one of the phases of the menstrual cycle. The uterine lining breaks down into a bloody substance. It then passes down through the cervix and exits through the vagina. Some women might not have any issues with it, but there are some who have a hard time when it happens. The main cause of issues are the irregular periods. These are the conditions which need to raise awareness when you experience abnormal menstrual periods:
Light flow.
This may indicate that you have thyroid or pituitary gland problem except when you are on anti-baby pills. If you don’t, consult your doctor.
Sudden bleeding
This might be caused by uterine or cervical polyps. This type of bleeding can indicate cancer, but this is normal if you are using pills.
Late or irregular periods
Irregular menstruation without chances of pregnancy can signify hormonal imbalance, it means that your ovulation is irregular, or you might be having PCOS that can render it more difficult to determine the fertile days.
Abnormal color
If your period is like cranberry juice, this means that you have a normal menstruation. Otherwise, you may be having estrogen imbalance.
