A water birth is a procedure of childbirth that is done in a tub of warm water. While some hospitals have a water birth facility, some ladies choose to do it in the comfort of their home. It is usually done for single births and rarely for multiples.
This couple, who were expecting twins, already experienced a water birth before. Nonetheless, their experience this time is pretty surprising, especially when the second baby came out.
Amazingly, the labor was so fast that the father was able to deliver the babies before the OB-GYN arrived.
In just a short time, the wife delivered the first baby.
And after 30 minutes, the second baby came out. However, when they saw the baby, they can’t help it but get shocked.
Apparently, the second twin was born while still inside the amniotic sac known as “en caul’.
It’s very rare for babies to be delivered via water birth en caul, but the couple managed to remain calm. The mom punctured the amniotic sac using her fingernail while her husband sat beside her to make sure everything went smoothly.
The twins are the couple’s 3rd and 4th child.
This amazing moment was captured by California-based birth photographer Robin Baker. If you find this story incredible, please do share it to your friends.
