If you can’t sleep well every night maybe you are doing something that won’t let you sleep. Here we will show you 12 things that you have to avoid at night, especially if you have insomnia.

1. Cold feet will never let you sleep so you should wear socks or try utilizing some heating pad.

2. You should consume your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. Your body will not let you sleep if you get in bed with full stomach because your body may keep you awake for digestion process.

3. You should not drink coffee at least 4 hours before you go to bed.  Caffeine makes you feel fresh and fortifies the body. Consume it when you have to stay awake.

4.  Avoid reading a book before sleeping. Try to finish reading at least an hour before going to bed. Do not bring your book to bed.

5. You should also keep your electronic devices away before you sleep.  Staring at your mobile phone or laptop screen will stimulate your brain and distract you from a peaceful rest.

6. You should choose an alarm clock with dimmer numbers. Bright alarm clocks will likewise fortify your brain and will make sleeping complicated for you.


7. You should make a reliable routine and time of your sleeping and with that your brain will be prepared so you should avoid sleeping at any time of the day.

8. Avoid drinking any liquid 1-2 hours before going to bed because you may wake up 2-3 times during the night to go to the bathroom.

9. Mattress is of a big importance for good sleep so you should do not pay attention to the price if the mattress suits you. A high-quality mattress will make you rest comfortably, and this will keep you fresh and sound.

10. Avoid exercising before sleeping. Try to exercise at least 3 hours before sleeping.  Exercise stimulates your body and keeps you awake.

11. Try to sleep on your side rather than on your stomach or back. Moreover, adopt the best sleeping position, to abstain from having sore back and shoulder or even neck the next morning.

12. Prepare your brain for sleeping by having a bedtime routine. Start by going to the bathroom. Brush your teeth and wash your face. Your body and mind will be ready for a good night sleep.
