Be careful, a latest study has found out that wearing of skinny jeans can cause some serious problems, such as nerve damage in the lower legs. But, you should not worry if you do not spend your day in a squatting position.
According to an article published by the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, a team of doctors have said the warning of a woman of 35 years ending paralyzed on the ground, unable to get up. This happened after spending all day in tight jeans, while helping his friend out. This woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that her jeans felt a bit tight when she pulled them in the morning.
Nevertheless, this event occurred after she spent hours in squatting position while emptying boxes and packaging things. Then she noticed that her legs feel tight and uncomfortable. When she went home later that day, she could not move her feet properly, so she tripped and fell.
She was found after a few hours on the ground and brought to the hospital. Doctors saw his both legs were so swollen below the knee, so they had to cut off jeans. She was treated with fluids, and took 4 days to use her legs again normally.
The doctor explained that squatting and tight jeans have caused this problem, leading to compression of the peroneal nerves, a set of nerves near the knee joint. In this situation, the calf muscles of women responded to the lack of blood swelling.
And because she was wearing tight jeans, her muscles bulged inward, making another set of nerve to be compressed and cut the supply to all muscles. He also said that no previous reports of this type of condition. The woman was treated with intravenous fluids because muscle damage caused the breakdown of muscle fibers, which could have led to kidney damage if not treated with IV hydration.
Therefore, the takeaway from this study is that people should not squat for a long time, especially if you wear tight pants. If you are doing a job that requires a lot of squatting, you should take the tight jeans and loose pants put in place.
