Blood sugar or blood glucose refers to sugar that is transported through the blood stream to provide energy to all cells in the body.


Glucose is a sugar that comes from the foods we eat and it is also formed and stored inside the body. It is the main source of energy for the cells of our body and its carried to each other through the blood stream.

High blood glucose (blood sugar), or hyperglycemia, occurs when the body cannot use glucose properly ( type2 diabetes), or it has insufficient amounts of it (type 1 diabetes).If this condition lasts longer, for instance, for months and years, it can permanently damage several body parts, including the kidneys, blood vessels, nerves, and eyes.

In diabetics, due to various different factors, the blood sugar levels can be increased. The factors are following:
