How to Treat Dry and Itchy Skin With Yogurt



Yogurt is an excellent skin-hydrating agent which can help you fight dryness of your skin. You can use yogurt to remove dry skin and to moisturize it as well.

Yogurt is very beneficial dairy product since it is packed with proteins, calcium, probiotics (the healthy bacteria that help digestion), and vitamins like B2, B5, B12, and D. this is why it is considered as one of the healthiest additions to any diet plan.


Moreover, you can also use it to get rid of germs and bacteria that cause itchiness due to its lactic acid. Most importantly, yogurt has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which will help you soothe dry and itchy skin.

In order to have perfectly healthy skin, you should apply yogurt on your skin, face, legs and hands and gently massage it using circular movements. Let it stand to act for about ten minutes and then take a shower.


Another great solution is to prepare a moisturizing mask by combining 1/2 cup of yogurt and 3-4 tablespoons of mashed ripe papaya.  You are also allowed to add some honey and lemon juice. Once prepared, apply this amazing mask on your skin and allow it to act for ten minutes. The, rinse it off with cold water.

In order to prepare a facial mask, you should mix 4 tablespoons of plain yogurt (drain the whey), 1 tablespoon of cocoa and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix all the ingredients well and then apply it on your face and neck. Leave it to stand for30 minute, rinse it off with cold water and pat dry your skin. Make sure to repeat the procedure 2-3 times per week.

Yogurt has the ability to cool the harsh bite of sunburn due to its zinc content which has anti-inflammatory properties.

Moreover, yogurt can be used to even out skin discoloration since it has a mild bleaching effect. It can lessen the appearance of both blemished and scars as well.

In order to clear blemishes, all you need to do is rub some plain yogurt on the darkened skin parts and massage for few minutes. Leave it to stand for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with plain water. Repeat the procedure 2 times per week.
