High blood pressure or hypertension is a common disease in which blood flows through blood vessels (arteries) at higher normal pressures. It is one of the most common health problems that many people are dealing with.

In most cases, there are no particular symptoms for this condition, however, some people can experience headaches, vomiting, dizziness, short breaths, blurry vision and nausea. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can drastically increase the risk of developing some serious health conditions such as kidney damage, loss of vision, loss of memory, atherosclerosis, heart disease, heart attack and stroke.

Throughout the day, the blood pressure changes and it varies each individual according to several factors including age, gender and hereditary. The doctors have established the following values for normal blood pressure:

30-40 years old – 129/81
40-50 years old – 135/83
50-60 years old – 142/85
Over 70 years old – 142/80

Up to 30 years old – 120/75
30-40 years old – 127/80
40-50 years old – 137/84
50-60 years old – 144/85
Over 70 years old – 159/85
